Scams And Frauds Checklist

This Scams And Frauds Checklist Is Your Personal Plan of Action for Fighting Back

OVERVIEW & PURPOSE

This checklist gets you organized. A simple and straight forward plan of action toward getting your money back. This list is an actual plan that has worked for me and many others. It is intended as a guide to give you a place to start the fight to possibly get your money back, before you spend any money on an attorney.

OBJECTIVES

  1. My primary goal is to help you get your money back, period.
  2. The methods I use are free and most people DO get their money back.

PLAN OF ACTION

  1. Call your bank or credit card company and stop any payment if possible.
  2. Get all receipts and records organized in a timeline of events.
  3. Copy all contracts and statements describing what you were promised.
  4. File a police report. It is not mandatory, but recommended..
  5. You MUST Contact the Attorney General’s Office BEFORE you hire an attorney. They WILL NOT get involved if you already have an attorney.
  6. Contact the Attorney General’s Office in your state. Tell them what happened.
  7. Be patient, and wait. They WILL get back to you,  do not call and hound them.
  8. Fill reports online to the FBI- IC3 unit and the FTC. Tell them who scammed you.
  9. Wait. You likely will not hear from the FBI, or FTC, but you will be alerting them of the person who scammed you, and they may file criminal charges.
  10. Only after the Attorney General’s Office has done all they can do, that you then decide if it is worth hiring your own attorney and pursuing  a lawsuit.
  11. Read my article– What Steps to Take if You Get Scammed.

  1. I’m so glad I found your website and especially this particular article. I have personally been victim to scams online.

An online financial company I registered to work with have closed my account for no reason, when I try to log in all they tell me is that my account has been blocked.

I’m happy you have shown me where I can go and launch my complains and make my report.

I’m going to report them now. Thanks a lot for sharing this valuable information with me.

  3. Thanks for the checklist, I really needed that right now.

I guess there is no way to get the money without hiring an attorney, right?

Some scams are not really big and it does not worth it. Is anything we can do in that cases?

Usually, I see small internet scams that try to make small amounts of money like 100-200 dollars

    • Hi llias,
No, this is the whole purpose of the checklist. It details step by step, exactly what you can do without any cost to you. In fact the Attorney General’s Office will not talk to you if you have hired your own attorney. If you scam is only $19, then I would say forget about it. But when you start talking $100-$200 then I would pursue that. I hope this clears up the intent of the checklist. You can also act as your own attorney. Read my article, Legal Help for Scams
